Facilities

nursery facilitiesTo ensure children’s needs are effectively met, the nursery consists of a baby room known as the Caterpillars, two  middle  playrooms known as the Butterflies  and Ladybirds and a pre-school room known as the Busy Bees.
The rooms are equipped with high quality furniture chosen specifically for babies and pre-school children. Specialised areas throughout are available so that your child will be involved in a whole spectrum of play. Within this environment, we aim to stimulate and encourage each child according to his individual needs. Children are able to feel secure and relate well to each other and all members of staff.

Both the outside areas are equipped with all the children’s ages in mind. In addition, the outdoor area provides for our own garden where we can plant our own flowers and vegetables. The nursery has its own supply of wellies and waterproof trousers so the children are encouraged to explore outside in all weathers.

Butterflies & Busy Bees will have a weekly cooking session, this maybe something that they will take home or, something that they can all eat together for a snack. The cooking days are also on a rota basis so each child will always have a chance to cook no matter what days they attend.

Security

Security is of paramount importance to us. To ensure the safety of your child during nursery times, we have entry and departure procedures which all staff are aware of and must follow at all times. Each child is signed in and out of nursery and no child will be permitted to leave with any person, who cannot be identified by a member of staff or who has not been authorised to collect a child by prior arrangement. As stated in our procedure, we may on ocassions ask for the password or a photograph before a child will be released.

To maintain a secure environment, we ask parents and visitors to the nursery to close any gates and doors themselves when entering and leaving the premises. On occasion we have people who will visit the nursery facilities to carry out maintenance. They are also required to sign in and out in the visitors book and where possible these visits are made by appointment with the manager so the work can be fully supervised.

The safety and security of the children remains a priority when they are taken on outings. Children will only be taken off the premises with written consent and with increased staff/child ratios. We have clear procedures for outings and these are followed at all times.
